Primary Capital Meeting Monday 7th July 6.15p.m. - Jul 04, 2008

Primary Capital Project Meeting
Round 2 of the Consultations will be held in school for parents and public on Monday 7th July from 6.15. to 7.30 p.m. Your child should have brought home a letter yesterday giving further details of this consultation. Free child care is available on this night, in school. It is essential that you attend in order that your views can feed into the consultation. Please also complete the responses in your consultation booklet or online before the 31st July. As before school can post your responses via the internal mail.

Important Strike action information
Industrial Action by members of UNISON is proposed to take place on 16th and 17th July 2007. Several of our support staff, i.e. teaching assistants, midday supervisors, higher level teaching assistants, after school club supervisors etc. will therefore be unable to attend work on the days of the strike. The Local Authority have been in contact this afternoon and are sending information to schools on Monday, which should clarify our position. We will endeavour to minimise disruption to your child’s education whilst following Local Authority, Union and NAHT advice.   We will inform you as soon as a decision has been made as to whether or not we remain open. It is possible that we will be able to remain open on the mornings of the 16th & 17th July but may be unable to provide lunchtime supervision, PPA cover or after school club. This may result in school having to close at midday. Firm details will follow as soon as possible.

Reports
Your child’s report will go out on Friday, 11th July providing you with details of their new teacher for September and the opportunity for a consultation with their current class teacher on Monday, 14th July.

Milk
Receipts have today been given out to those pupils who have requested milk for the next full term, September to December 2008. The milk order has now been placed and no more orders will be taken.

Sun Safety Advice to Parents/Carers
Can all parents/guardians please ensure children’s shoulders are covered and they bring a sun-hat to school (which they will be reminded to wear for all outdoor activities including P.E.). Parents/carers should apply sun-cream to their child on a morning before school. All sun-cream brought into school should be clearly marked with the child’s name. If sun-cream is to be reapplied throughout the day the child will be asked to do it themselves (for this reason spray on application of a high protection factor or a roll on total block is obviously best). Thanks you for your co-operation.
At this time of year when we are doing PE outside pupils will need a t-shirt which covers their shoulders.

Holy Trinity Church Summer Fair
Holy Trinity Church is holding their summer fair on Saturday, 12th July from 2 – 5 p.m. in the church grounds. This year it is a pirate theme and there will be a children’s colouring competition, a children’s fancy dress competition and a cake competition for all ages. There will also be a bouncy castle, tombola, cake stalls and a lot more. For more information please contact Sarah Barton on 07882576863

PFA Summer Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fair on Wednesday and for the overwhelming donations of cakes for our ever popular cake stall.  A great time was had by all and we managed to raise a further £270 towards our outdoor play equipment fund. Thank you to our new helpers Katherine Kelly, Julie Steele, Karen Rodgers and Claire Serginson.

School would like to thank our PFA, parents, helpers and all families who supported this fund raising event. The wooden play equipment has now been ordered and will be installed in September. The PFA donation has funded a third of the cost for this equipment which is a huge achievement. So thank you again to the PFA for organising events and to parents, children and staff for supporting events and raising a substantial amount of money.
