Easter Fayre 29th March - 27 March 2010

After school activities

There will be no after school activities running on Monday, 29th March 2010 due to the Easter Fair taking place.  Our “Seaton Crew” after school club childcare will however run as usual.

Kwik Cricket – Y4, Y5 & Y6

After the Easter holidays, Mrs Storm will be starting the Kwik Cricket club on a Wednesday after school, 3-3.45pm for Years 4, 5 & 6.  If your child is in Year4,5 or 6 and would like to join this club please collect an application form from the office and return to Mrs Storm as soon as possible.

Hartlepool Hospice

We are now selling Easter chicks to raise funds for Hartlepool Hospice.  They are available from the school office and cost £1.50 each.

Easter Egg Raffle

Two strips of raffle tickets have been given to each child today.  Each strip of tickets costs 50p.  Please put your child’s name across the back of the tickets and place back in the envelope with the money and return to school by Wednesday, 31st March.  Please keep corresponding tickets to claim your prize.  The draw will take place next Thursday morning, 1st April.
Additional tickets are available from the school office.  Staff and PFA have donated a number of chocolate eggs to be raffled in aid of school fund.  Donations of eggs for this event would be greatly appreciated

Annual Maintenance Fee

Thank you to everyone who has made their donation of £7.50 per child for our annual maintenance fee.  If you have not made a donation it is not too late, please send this to school before we break up for Easter.  Cheques should be made payable to Holy Trinity School Fund.

Milk – 19th April to 23rd July 2010

The milk has today been ordered for next term and receipts for those requesting milk during this period have been given out today.

France

Year 5/6 thoroughly enjoyed their educational visit to France over the weekend. We travelled by coach and ferry. We visited a boulangerie and made croissants and pan au chocolate and a chocolate factory where we watched chocolates being made. We spoke French and bought items in Le Touquet market, paid our respects at Etaples, a large military cemetery and visited Naussica a huge sea life centre. Other activities included a coastal walk and night hike around the coastline of Hardelot, a disco and ‘Have –a- go’ night. The children were extremely well behaved and gained much from this experience. Thank you to parents who kept the text cascade working and a huge thank you to Miss. Murray, Mr. Forth and PC Johnson for giving up their spare time enabling the visit to take place.

PFA Request for help.

PFA are looking into the possibility of running a car park in August to accommodate people attending the tall ships event. We could make a lot of money for school for very little effort over the weekend when the tall ships race is taking place. We need volunteers who are willing to undertake a 2 hour ‘stint’ at directing traffic to parking spots on our school field. We need to know in advance of the event if we can organise a rota of volunteers to cover the two days. With park and ride being available from the front it is a golden opportunity. Most other car parks will be charging £10 per day so using our field, yards and car park could generate a huge sum of money which would be used to the benefit of the children. If you may be able to cover a 2 hour ‘shift’ please complete the form so we can see if this idea is viable.

Easter Disco

The PFA will be holding an Easter disco for all pupils, including Reception, on Wednesday, 31st March 2010

The times are as follows:
KS1 4-00 -5.30
KS2 5.45-7.15
Entry costs £2, payable at the door, which will include refreshments. Please enter via main entrance and collect children from the yard at the end of their disco

Easter Egg/Bonnet Competition

On Monday, 29th March we will be holding our Easter Egg/Easter Bonnet Competition.  All entries need to be taken to the hall on the morning of the competition with a donation of £1 for each entry.  (maximum of 1 entry per pupil in both competitions).  FOR JUDGING PURPOSES PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR ENTRY. Use the slip provided. Entries, with labels, should be placed on the appropriate year group tables.  Labels need the title of the egg/bonnet on the front and your child’s name and year group on the back. This ensures that judging is totally anonymous.  Staff will collect entry £1s in the hall. Winners will be displayed at the Easter Fair
PFA Easter Fair

Come and join the Easter Fair on Monday 3pm- 4.15pm. Tombola, raffle, Easter crafts, Name the bunny, 100 number square, pick a lolly and refreshments. You will also be able to view the winners of the Easter Egg and Easter Bonnet Competitions. The PFA have sent an empty paper plate home with each child today for you to fill with cakes and bring in on Monday morning, if possible, to sell on our cake stall at the fair.  We are also in need of any unwanted gifts or other prizes you may like to donate for our tombola/ raffle.

Easter Service.

We would like to invite you to our Easter Service in Church on Wednesday 31st March at 9.10 a.m.

Y2 Family Collective Worship

Thank you to Year 2 who worked really hard to present their class collective worship to parents. It was lovely to see so many Y2 family members to come and share in this event. Thank you to everyone who completed an evaluation form for us.

Non Uniform day

We are holding a non-uniform day next Thursday 1st April to raise funds for our school.  To support this event we ask that pupils wear non-uniform and bring a donation.

Holidays

School closes on Thursday, 1st April and reopens on Monday, 19th April 2010.

School Opening Times

Can I remind you that the school gates open at 8.40 a.m.  Children arriving before this time are not within the safety of the school grounds or supervised. On Wednesday morning a number of older children had arrived between 8.25 and 8.40 a.m. They were climbing on the gates to the football field and other pupils were pushing the gate backwards and forwards giving their friends ‘a ride’.  If an accident had occurred there would not have been any first aid assistance on hand.  If your child walks to school alone for their own safety, please ensure that they do not arrive before 8.40 a.m.
