Homework: Children have a planner/diary in which they
independently record all homework showing the date given and

their responsibility in preparation for Year 6. Could I please
ask parents to sign this book on a weekly basis and to check
that children are practising these organisational skills and
completing weekly literacy/numeracy/cross-curricular homework.
Important Requests: Children do become dehydrated
during the school day and this can be detrimental to their
general health and well-being and does affect the ability
to learn. Please could I ask that your child has a `sports-type'
water bottle in school each day which is taken home and sterilized
frequently for hygiene reasons.
Educational Visits: This term the children will be
visiting The University of Teesside to take part in the annual
`Science is Great' event organised by Setpoint North-East.
During this full day of activities your child will have the
opportunity to experience a variety of hands-on scientific
activities and take part in a group `design and make' challenge.
The focus of the day, as always, is for children to explore
and have FUN!
