Parent Support

At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School we acknowledge the needs of the whole child, with an emphasis on their social, spiritual and emotional well-being.  We have a very successful mentoring programme in school which helps children experiencing a range of challenges including relationships with others, concentration and personal organisation, changes in personal circumstances including bereavement, self-esteem etc.  Children work with a trained teaching assistant and take part in child-led games and activities, designed to give them skills which they can then use in other contexts, enabling them to make the most of their experiences and opportunities in school and the wider world.  These twenty minutes sessions take place weekly outside of lesson time, so no academic work is missed.  Parents and guardians of children taking part will be informed by letter.  This precious opportunity for one to one time with an adult has proved popular and successful with many children.

We have a number of books in our school library regarding sensitive issues which you may want to share with your child.

If you would like to look at these books please contact the office who will be able to assist you.

‘Keeping Children Safe’

As parents, guardians and educators of children we are responsible for the safety and well-being of the children in our care.  The Home Office has made the ‘Keeping Children Safe’ document available to schools.  It is a sad fact that the majority of sexual offences committed against children are made by members of their own family or social circles.  With the relevant information we can make informed judgements on how we protect our children  This document sets out the means by which we can find that information.  Copies are given to each family and additional copies are available in school.  The designated person for child protection is Mrs Amanda Baines.
